Dillon CraneGard & Checkline replacement review
Identify the original model and measurement function before specifying an alternative. Review CraneGard CGS-1 to CGS-4, RTM-20D, QB-10000 and the withdrawn CableSafe rental offer.
Request a legacy-model review ↗Identify fixed-clamp or running-line measurement first.
These structural references help describe the original function. Neither photograph establishes an approved replacement for a named legacy model.

Supplier reference photographs. Exact model, rope fit, calibration and supplied accessories are agreed in the written offer.
Legacy model status and a conditional CTM review path
Source status checked November 1, 2026. Original force and rope units below are preserved from the vendor listing. A CTM model link opens an inquiry, not an approved cross-reference.
| Legacy model | Vendor-listed status | Original scope | CTM request to review | What must match |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dillon CraneGard CGS-1 | Discontinued; source lists no replacement Primary source | 2,500 lb; 3/16–1/2 in rope | Review CTM-FIX-5T → | Review clamp geometry, old switch options and actual setpoints; capacity alone cannot establish a match. |
| Dillon CraneGard CGS-2 | Discontinued; source lists no replacement Primary source | 5,000 lb; 3/8–7/8 in rope | Review CTM-FIX-5T → | Provide full switch suffix, supply/control circuit and dimensional envelope. |
| Dillon CraneGard CGS-3 | Discontinued; source lists no replacement Primary source | 10,000 lb; 7/16–7/8 in rope | Review CTM-FIX-5T → | 50 kN is a planning maximum only; confirm calibrated working band, mounting and relay behavior. |
| Dillon CraneGard CGS-4 | Discontinued; source lists no replacement Primary source | 20,000 lb; 5/8–1 1/4 in rope | Review CTM-FIX-20T → | Review lower-load sensitivity as well as full scale; no automatic drop-in substitution. |
| Checkline / Gigasense RTM-20D | Vendor lists RTMe as its successor Primary source | Legacy high-capacity stationary cable meter | Review CTM-QC-20T → | Send exact capacity variant, rope profiles, contact geometry and working load band. |
| Checkline QB-10000 | Discontinued; vendor suggests CTM2 Primary source | Legacy elevator cable measurement / recording | Review CTM-ELV-4K → | Confirm sequential versus synchronized acquisition and the actual number of ropes. |
| Checkline CableSafe-RENT | Rental offer withdrawn Primary source | Moving-line rental service; not a product discontinuation notice | Review CTM-RLT-5T → | Confirm current purchase/rental availability separately; provide force, speed and cable bend limits. |

CraneGard: vendor page says discontinued without replacement. A new system needs a mechanical and switching review.
RTM-20D and QB-10000: the vendor identifies RTMe and CTM2 respectively as onward products. Include these in a like-for-like evaluation.
CableSafe-RENT: the listed change concerns a rental offer. It does not establish that the entire CableSafe product has been discontinued.
